Wrinkles form over time by repetitive movements of the muscles on the face. You will notice wrinkles are visible on areas of the face which move most with natural expression, often around the eyes and forehead. Anti-wrinkle injections are carefully administered to the muscles causing unwanted creases in the skin.

Anti-wrinkle injections are made with a purified protein which disrupts signalling between the nerves and the muscles, causing the muscles to relax and atrophy to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Regular anti-wrinkle injections help to manage and slow down the development of further wrinkles.

At RevIVe Medics, you will be treated by Dr Shibu Chacko MBE who is an experienced clinician trained in aesthetics. Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating is a condition that affects the amount of perspiration produced by the body. The condition can leave the affected areas constantly damp making everyday activities difficult to carry out and inevitably causing embarrassment to the sufferer. There is a quick and simple treatment available a prescribed medication. This product is normally used to treat facial frown lines and wrinkles but it can also be effectively used to prevent the sweat glands from producing excess levels of sweat.

wide-set jaw

A wide or heavy-set jaw can often be caused by enlargement of the masseter muscles. The masseters sit over the jaw and can be felt when clenching the back teeth. In some people, due to genetics or frequent jaw clenching, the masseters can enlarge. Masseter enlargement can make the lower part of the face look wider and more masculine. Medication can be used to safely and effectively shrink the size of the masseter muscles, reducing the width of the jaw and making the lower face look slimmer.

NEFERTITI NECK LIFT

The Nefertiti Neck Lift is one of RevIVe’s specialty treatments, used to provide a subtle lift in the neck area. Our skilled clinicians expertly administer injections to treat the neck without surgery, resulting in a naturally younger-looking appearance.

It involves a series of targeted injections into the upper neck and it blocks the signals from the nerve to the facial muscles under the skin, stopping them from contracting and creating wrinkles. Treatment inhibit the upper platysmal muscle responsible for drawing down the jawline.

smokers lines

Smoker’s lines occur as we grow older and the lip naturally starts to lose its volume, along with repetitive bunching of the tissue from muscular activity.

Smoking does not necessarily cause smoker’s lines; physiological ageing in general cause lines, folds, and wrinkles in the lower face area, or anything below the eyes, to form.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the treatment work?

Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be used to treat all wrinkles which are the result of normal facial movement. When it is injected into a specific muscle in the face, it blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscle. This means that the nerve ending cannot tell the muscle to move, hence there will be less wrinkling of the skin in the areas treated. You will have a smooth appearance than before. So, in simple terms, Anti-Wrinkle Injections help to relax the muscles being treated.

What will happen in my Anti-Wrinkle Injection appointment at The Revive Medical & Aesthetics?

When you initially make the appointment, we will send you some instructions on how to prepare for the appointment. For example, we will ask you to avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours prior to the procedure.

Once at the Clinic, first you will be greeted and handed over the registration and medical form.

Then the clinician will go the form with you and check your suitability for the procedure.

You can then discuss what your concerns are and what you want to achieve and ask any questions you have.

He will then assess your face, take some photos before the procedure for insurance purposes.

You will be looked after by his assistants, who will make sure any make up is removed and the area is cleansed.

Then the clinician will mark the areas in your face and then the assistant will apply some ice before the procedure to minimise bruising and pain.

Then you will have the Anti-Wrinkle Injection. Ice will be applied during the procedure too and you will be kept comfortable throughout.

Once it’s over, we will apply some arnica gel to further minimise any bruising. You will be given Aftercare advice and make sure you understand everything.

Is the procedure painful?

No! It will just feel like some tiny pinches and it will be over before you know it. When correctly injected, it should not be painful.

How long does the procedure take ?

The procedure itself only takes around 20 minutes. But your appointment is for half an hour so you can have the consultation and discuss needs and prepare for the appointment fully and the procedure will never be rushed.

How long does it take to recover from the procedure?

There is no recovery time for Botox but there are few things you need to do to look after yourself a few hours after. We will provide you with the Aftercare information and explain everything you need to do.

What are the side effects?

Anti-Wrinkle Injections are relatively safe but there are minor side effects like headaches, pain, swelling and bruising at the injection site for some people. Most of these should only last a few hours or a few days. Most people have no side effects at all. To minimise bruising, we advise clients to avoid alcohol and certain vitamins and drugs and also apply ice and arnica on the day of the procedure.

How long will the results last?

The results will last for 3-4 months usually but depend on your life style and metabolic factors. For some people it may last longer.
